So here are the Top Searches for 2009 coming from the three prime search engines on this planet (Bing, Yahoo, Google)
On the contrary, the Yahoo-Bing Tandem are the only ones who are spilling their beans officially while the world’s no. 1 search engine, Google a.k.a BIG G, is feeling a little bit shy to show-off. Anyway that’s what google trends are for, right? So cross your fingers now and be stupefied on what are the hottest searches for this year!
Let’s start with the youngest not to mention the fastest rising search-engine today, BING. Now, If your votes are tilted to the late iconic pop legend then lucky for you, your hunch is correct! Bow your heads once again and give grace to Michael Jackson as Bing’s no. 1 top searches of the year.
Top Bing Trending Topics:
2) Twitter
3) Swine Flu
4) Stock Market
5) Farrah Fawcett
6) Patrick Swayze
7) Cash for Clunkers
8 ) Jon and Kate Gosselin
9) Billy Mays
10) Jaycee Dugard
Now, if you’re itching to see who was the most searched person for Bing this year, then you won’t believe who “he” is.
Hint:
1) “He” is not in any relation with politics
2) “He” is not President Obama
3) And oh, not part of any vampire related romance either
Tada! Spill? It’s PEREZ HILTON ! (Now we can hear others cheers and the rest of the crowd screaming WTF!) Crazy as it may seems, it was BING’s call.
Now, for the search-engine who’s glow is fading steadily fast this year. Let’s check Yahoo – I mean Y!
Top 10 Yahoo Overall Searches for 2009
1) Michael Jackson
2) Twilight
3) WWE
4) Megan Fox
5) Britney Spears
6) Naruto
7) American Idol
8)Kim Kardashian
9) NASCAR
10) Runescape
The Other Yahoo Top Search Categories.

Strangely, you can see that Twitter didn’t even appear on any of the top ten list of Yahoo.
But Y? Maybe their year ender review can show you some enlightenment.
Alright! This list won’t be complete if BIG G won’t at least jive on the party, fortuitously google trends can provide us with a sneak preview of what’s yet to come. Keep in mind that this is not the official list but it’s the closest to what you can get for now. Hopefully Google will unveil their splendorous top searches for 2009 soon.

Hiya … I found your website by mistake. I was looking in Bing for Accounting software that I had already purchased when I found your site, I have to say your page is pretty informative, I just love the theme, its amazing!. I don’t have the time today to totally read your site but I bookmarked it and also will sign up for your RSS feeds. I’ll back around in a day or two. Thanks again for a cool site.

I love how international & multilingual Google's list is…I actually haven't heard of a lot of these people & terms rather than it being the same old, same old tabloid material. It would be interesting if they broke their most searched terms down by country.
