It was only a few weeks since we saw the “miracle” baby who survived a train accident in Australia when another similar incident happened in Boston. A very intoxicated unidentified woman has accidentally tumbled over the rails seconds before a train emerged from tunnel. The woman was pinned down onto the rail without any movement as bystanders panicly flailed their arms in an effort to stop a very tragic accident. All of these were caught in the surveillance subway camera. Watch this amazing video how the drunken woman was saved from this fatal subway accident.
The MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) train operator Charice Lewis received an emergency radio call from another subway employee, Jacqueline Osorio about the incident. Lewis managed to quickly press the emergency brake just in time, missing the drunken woman by a few inches.
“It was so close, I thought it was not good, afterward she came up with a big smile on her face and I’m like ‘Oh my God, you really scared me. And the most exciting part for me is she crawled out from under.” Lewis said.
The unidentified woman suffered scraped knees and minor bruises and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for evaluation and treatment. As for Lewis, the train operator who saved the day, she received an award for this heroic deed from the Secretary of Transportation and a well deserved standing ovation from the audience present. Miracles do happen everyday, everyone was thankful no tragedy had occurred.
