Jamie, Colin Gunn’s nephew, was in a car with his friend Marvyn Bradshaw who was later shot dead by Michael O’Brien. Due to shock from this incident, Jamie turned to alcohol and drugs and eventually died of pneumonia at an early age of 19.
A week after Jamie’s death, O’Brien’s grandparents, John and Joan Stirland (aged 55 and 51, respectively) were shot at close range by men who wore boiler suits. It was found out at a later trial that the British Godfather Collin Gunn bribed corrupt police officer to keep track and monitor the progress on the Stirlands’ murder investigation. It was identified that Gunn masterminded and plotted the cruel death of the elder couple as a revenge for his nephew’s death.
Another heinous crime was also linked to Gunn. Nottingham jeweler Marian Bates, aged 64, was gunned down as she tried to protect her daughter when the Time Centre in Nottingham was raided. A car which belonged to Gunn was used in the robbery and the gunman was believed to have been associated with Gunn.
In June 2006, Colin Gunn, 42 years of age and a 6”4’ bodybuilder, was eventually imprisoned in maximum security jail to serve a minimum of 35 years for conspiracy to murder for the plotting the death of the Stirlands . However, his imprisonment has not really stopped him from spreading and implicating fear in the community especially to his known enemy. Just recently, the Secretary of State Justice Jack Straw and the authority have discovered that Gunn was allowed to use the popular networking site Facebook not only in communicating with his friends and family outside of jail but most importantly to continue running from inside the cell his founded drug and extortion empire to intimidate and harass other people.
The jail’s governor probably allowed him of this social networking privilege for fear of being charged with human rights violation. Some of Gunn’s post on the site were “I will be home one day and I can’t wait to look into certain people’s eyes and see the fear of me being there,” and “It’s good to have an outlet to let you know how I am. Some of you will be in for a good slagging, some have let me down badly, and will be named and shamed, fucking rats,”
But Straw declared that this is certainly prohibited as based on the Public Order Act 1986 which created offences dealing with causing harassment, alarm or distress. Straw sought the assistance of Facebook administrators and removed Gunn’s pages from the social network last Friday.
