Whenever you heard about a video being released by Google, your mind is instantly oriented to questions like “What shall I learn today?” Google videos are highly-informative and usually give you a good preview about what’s yet to come.
Remember their introductory videos about Google earth, adsense, adwords analytics etc? All of those vids are easy to understand, enlightening and kind of entertaining to watch.
Today, it seems Google had prepared a strange-brew for us! If our sources are correct, this is the first time BIG G used a mascot for their introductory videos. So for your consideration, please welcome DR WAVE! (click to enlarge)
If you have been catching with the latest updates about Google, they are releasing free-invites for the beta-testing of their recently developed masterpiece. The Google Wave.
So what is Google wave?
Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more. All the juicy details about wave are found here.
Now, for those lucky users who manage to got a free invites for the said application. You will have the opportunity to see DR. WAVE giving you an “enlightening” intro about what Google wave is all about.
Please see the video.
OMG! Guys did we learn something new today? I bet even Beakman’s world can do better than that! Aren’t introductions supposed to be clear, concise and informative?
We fairly believe in the spirit of entertainment and out of the box presentation, but Dr. Wave’s video could be far better if there was a simple illustration of Google wave, instead of him , waving his hands literally while he juxtapose the parts of a wave.
It’s said that the video should be watch while you’re inside Google wave. Even so, it’s still hard to imagine and cope up with the video if there’s no illustration. Remember that the majority users of wave are still newbies. You bet they could use a little more help than that odd presentation.
I guess everyone has their first-time, even BIG G can do something “geekishly-weird” sometimes. I kind of remember the weird jingle contest held by BING that is presented to the world along with those creepy dancing-silhouettes.
Priceless!
So what do you think guys! How’s Dr. Wave’s lab experiment?

The video worked perfectly well when viewed within Wave, which is how it was meant to be viewed. Think about it: if you need to learn what each item in the Wave interface is for, what could be better than a person on the screen pointing directly at each item as he explains it?
