Most probably you heard about the Kanye West’s “mic grabbing” incident during the recently held 2009 VMA Music awards. If not, you’re lucky ‘ coz we are going to feature the exclusive video in a few moments.
“Volcanic” hot incident
It was a “volcanic” hot query today in Google following a controversial incident which happened when popular country pop singer, Taylor Swift , wins the Best Female Video for her “You belong with Me” MTV. Then all of a sudden, American rapper Kanye West out of nowhere wantonly grabbed the microphone from Swift while the latter was in the middle of her acceptance speech.
After grabbing the mic, West started his “rap” saying that Beyonce Knowles video for “Single Ladies”, which was also nominated for the same award, was “one of the best videos of all time”. He repeated this twice and the crowd responded negatively with jeers, boos and catcalls. Even Beyonce herself couldn’t believe what this dude was talking about. West gave the microphone to the similarly startled Taylor who, wasn’t able to finish her speech. This was the exact words West said:
Hey Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish but Beyonce have one of the best videos of all time, one of the best videos of all time.
He left the stage after the announcement leaving everyone dumbfounded and beleaguered

Staged or not?
We first thought that it was just another uncouth staged act like the Bruno-Eminem incident, but apparently it seems intentional. Later in the evening, Beyonce received the Best Video of the Year award for “Single Ladies” and during her speech she called Taylor Swift to come up the stage to finish her acceptance speech.
It was reported that Kanye West was removed from the awards night following the incident. He later apologized about the trash talk he said and posted it on his blog (written in ALL CAPS)
I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!
We are not sure if this guy is on “pot” lately, doing something stupid at one moment then apologizing the next minute? We recommend VMA authorities to ban this guy from attending other music awards. Forgive this guy now and he will do it again, for sure.
If you could remember, this guy’s action was worse than that of Serena Williams’ outburst during the semi finals of the US Open 2009. For the tennis fans here, Williams is now facing a possible ban on future slam titles for verbally abusing a line judge. But at least, Serena’s outburst was due to emotions and pressure during the match. Compare that with Kanye’s action, this guy is absolutely, 100% crazy. =)
