We were totally surprised when we read this news, who wouldn’t be? A real human, flesh and blood marrying a video game character? A total hogwash, we thought! But after searching and reading a couple of articles we’re a believer.
And guess what, it happened in Japan – where the sun beautifully rises. We don’t like to call it the land of the weird but for some reason we’re beginning to ponder if that term shouldn’t be used. Anyway, we totally respect their different views in life.
Did you remember that weird Sony Playstation slim commercial? We can’t help but to think that some Japanese have different and somewhat “extreme” creative instincts.
Back to our story, apparently a Nintendo DS video game fanatic identified as Sal9000 (an alias) fell “deeply” in love with a dating sim Love Plus character Nene Anegasaki. There are three girlfriends in this dating sim video game, we mentioned Nene then there’s Manaka Takane and Rinko Kobayakawa.
Why not marry them all? Perhaps, Sal9000 has a “one woman policy” in life – Oh, but does it apply on video games? Okay, we rest our case and respect this guy’s bizarre decision. Take a peek on this video report about Sal9000 and Nene Anegasaki’s wedding ceremony.
Gizmodo reported that the wedding ceremony happened at a church in Guam. The Groom brought a Nintendo DS and a copy of Love Plus. The ceremony proceeded as planned after which they hold a small reception with close friends and family last November 22. No reports if Love Plus developers were invited.
We’re contemplating that the whole ceremony could be an act since the Japanese dude only used his alias to marry the Nintendo DS character. Perhaps the real guy wasn’t involved at all. Alright, we’re rationalizing now.We want to say congratulations to Sal9000 and Nene Anegasaki and if they plan on having kids, Donkey Kong Jr. would be the first one.
