The city of London was in a way amused and shocked by news that a man’s penis was stuck in a stainless steel pipe and had to be removed with the use of a metal grinder.

A 40 year old man came into the Southampton General Hospital in Southampton, England with a serious but amusing problem. His penis was stuck inside a stainless steel pipe and he didn’t bother explaining how it got there in the first place, but of course he was very anxious and concerned about it.

All the medical staff tried to help him as gently as possible out of his situation, but unfortunately, because the blood flow was constricted, it caused the penis to become erected, making it more difficult for them to just pull it out.

They had to employ the help of the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. The fire crew turned up with unique and special equipment from St. Mary’s station in Southampton and seven firefighters came in and tried to help in what was considered a very delicate procedure.

The firefighters used the special four-and-a-half-inch industrial metal grinder to cut the pipe from around the anesthetized man’s penis. A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: ‘It was a very delicate operation that required a very steady hand and the crew was worried about things getting too hot during the cutting.’ I wonder what he meant by that?

The penis as a result was bruised and swollen, but it was not damaged severely in this traumatic event.

At first, coming across this article, it made me cringe a bit. I mean, can you imagine that happening to you? A part of your body, well, in his case, his penis got caught in the stainless steel pipe. It would be scary and nerve-wracking the entire duration, wondering if they could ever get it out again. But the thing that got my attention about this is that, it wasn’t the medical staff that saved his err, penis, but the crew of the fire department. They also had to use a metal grinder to take it off. How creative is that, right? Not something you see every day.
