Suspensions and comebacks

On August 1999, Willie was suspended along with his BUDDIES John Estrada and Randy Santiago by ABS-CBN from Magandang Tanghali Bayan because of relentless vulgar jokes they threw at the contestants on “calendar-girl”. The suspension was spearheaded by MTRCB’s chairman Armida Siguion-Reyna.

Later on 2001, Willie takes a FULL TERMINATION from Magandang Tanghali Bayan after he defied orders from ABS-CBN by doing his favorite “vulgar-jokes” again to the contestants. This time, his buddies aren’t around anymore.

Wowowee scandals and tragedies

After Revillame’s “miraculous” comeback, he started WOWOWEE with a BIG-BANG. On its 1st anniversary on Feb 4, 2006. A mass tragedy happened when a stampede broke out at the PhilSports Arena while people were eager people waiting for the show to begin. 74 people died (according to reports, 71 were dead) and hundreds were injured. It is said that the cause of the stampede is on the line where people get tickets for the show and when the security of ULTRA closed, causing people to rush to enter the gates. Wowowee game show were guilty of gross negligence.

Sexual Harassment case

Shortly two months after his comeback via the ABS-CBN game show “Wowowee” in 2005, Willie was put once again in bad light after two women filed separate cases of sexual harassment against him. The women who accused Willie were entertainment columnist Salve Asis and former “Bump” dancer Euanne Bautista. Asis claimed that Revillame touched her private parts while they were at the back of the car while Bautista said that Revillame touched her during an out of town show of “Wowowee” in Quezon province.

Revillame’s Wife File Annulment RA 9262

On July 16, 2007, Revillame was charged before a Quezon City court for allegedy abusing his estranged wife, Floralice “Liz” Almoro. Prosecutor Gibson Araulla Jr. recommended P 12,000 bail after he found that Revillame violated the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act. Almoro alleged that Revillame humiliated and shouted at her while he was holding their baby boy. That sometime May 2006, he allegedly tried to hit her with a chair and throw the remote control. She said that Revillame had “dirty XXX affairs” with different women.

Revillame stated in an on-air tirade in wowowee: “Papa’no kami makapagsasaya? Nahihirapan kami . . . Pagkatapos ng show, ipakita n’yo ang gusto n’yong ipalabas. English Translation: How can we have fun? We’re finding it difficult  . . After the show, you can air what you want to air.

We believe the “WILLIE REVILLAME SAGA” will keep going in-out of the entertainment channel of the Philippines for a very long time. The more scandals he does, the more INFAMOUS he became making him more RICHER and more UNSTOPPABLE.
