A 25 year old woman named Jeanne Mundango Manunga was put on one year imprisonment with probation for three years and ought to pay as restitution $50,000 for sending life threatening threats to herself.
Prosecutors were told that after Manunga and her boyfriend broke-up in 2008, Manunga received threats from the latter and his sister-in-law. That is why after 19 complaints from Manunga, the police arrested the alleged hostile texters. The sister-in-law was arrested three times and was in jail trying to wait for bail-out money. However, Manunga’s complaints were not true.
It was found out that Manunga wanted her ex-boyfriend and his sister-in-law to be in trouble so she purchased and registered a cellphone in his sister-in-law’s name. After careful analysis the police learned that the pre-paid cellphone was bought within close proximity to Manunga’s work and home.
This is a clear manifestation of how a person can go bitter after a break-up. But why did she take such measures just to take on vengeance? She even went to the extent of complaining to the police about the threats she was allegedly receiving. I do think that she has gone real crazy! This just shows how gullible and unjust she can be. She can even let other people go to jail for faults that are not true. It’s good that there is such a thing as karma where bad things you do to others will come back to you.
Moreover, cellphones are highly technological items to make life easier for people. It is not supposed to be used to destroy lives and manipulate people. In this case, the cellphone was used as an element to the crime. Manunga should have perfect sense to realize that such technology should not be used to defraud or deceive authorities and other people.
In whatever way, I do have to applaud the investigators who cracked the case. But the thing is they should have validated the complaints beforehand before any harm could have been done to the ex-boyfriend and the sister-in-law. As protector of the people, authorities should have made sure that Manunga was true to her statements. Anyway as they say, “It’s better late than never”.

She should not go to prison, she needs psychological help. Prison won't make her see what she did wrong.
