As winter just begins to set in, the people behind Warped Tour have already announced part of the lineup for the 2010 Warped Tour, which is sure to get punk and indie music-enthusiasts worked up for summer. This year’s tour has been shortened by a week, so that students can get back to school easily, proving that Warped Tour cares about the youth as well.
The Warped Tour started in 1994 and was created by Kevin Lyman, and has changed from being just about punk and emo to branching out into other genres such as metal and rock. This way, there are many more fans interested in attending the 43 city event. It is going to start off in June 24 in San Diego, California and it will end in Washington Country Fairgrounds in Hillsboro, Oregon. There are over 60 bands included in the initial lineup, including Andrew W.K., Sum 41, Dillinger Escape Plan, Reel Big Fish, the All-American Rejects, Motion City Soundtrack, I See Stars, Riverboat Gamblers and some heavier and new bands like Underoath, Suicide Silence, and Whitechapel.
With these initial announcements and plans, fans everywhere are planning their summers around the tour, and some even follow the tour throughout the country and attend every event since this year’s tour is promising to be an eventful one.
