Though the likelihood of a fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is already impossible, Pacquiao will definitely be present in the boxing ring again on November 13 with Antonio Margarito as his opponent.

According to Yahoo! Sport’s Kevin Lole, Pacquiao and Margarito will fight for the WBC junior middleweight belt in a city which is yet to be named. The place where the fight will happen is dependent on whether Margarito will finally be awarded with a boxing license here in the United States.
Margarito was indefinitely denied of a license by the State of California after a hand-wrap controversy and a disgraceful loss to Shane Mosley last January 2009. If Margarito will finally get his license, the fight will happen in Las Vegas City. If not, then the boxers will compete in Monterrey Mexico.
Miguel Cotto was actually the one being considered to fight Pacquiao again this year but the latter’s promoter Bob Arum thought that the battle will not look competitive enough after Pacquiao defeated Cotto during the 12th round last November.
Margarito was actually already considered as Pacquiao’s opponent back in 2008 but his trainer Freddie Roach dismissed the idea thinking that Margarito, who was currently the top-ranked welterweight in the world that time, is too big for Pacquaio to take. The situation is different now, however, with Margarito being denied of a license and Pacquaio competing for his seventh weight class.
