Caroline Giuliani, daughter of former New York City Mayor and Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani , was arrested by NYPD officers last Wednesday for shoplifting. The younger daughter of former Mayor Giulani with ex-wife Donna Hanover – a television reporter and actress – was caught trying to leave a Sephora Store on E. 86th St and Lexington Avenue around 3:30 PM with five cosmetic items worth almost $150.

A police officer said that she was blocked at the exit by the store security upon being seen on the security camera while pocketing the products. After confirming that she had the unpaid items on her pocket, the store called on the police but after discovering who she was, they declined to press charges against her. However, the New York Police Department still arrested the 20-year old Harvard student for petty larceny charge and was taken out of the store in cuffs and brought to a local precinct. After spending time at the said precinct, Giuliani left the police station Wednesday evening with a man and woman but declined to answer any questions from the press.
A Manhattan District Attorney Officer also didn’t release any comment on whether Caroline will be prosecuted or not. A representative for the former mayor had even said that what happened was a very personal matter and that Mr. Giuliani is asking the media to give Caroline her privacy.
