Chile’s deadly earthquake last Saturday recently produces strong aftershock particularly in Concepcion, Chile. Aftershock occurs 25 miles north northwest of Concepcion, Chile, at 2:44 p.m. local time Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It occurs at 12:44 p.m. Eastern time and recorded as the latest of four aftershocks to have struck the area
Chileans might still have paranoia with the latest tragedy that hits their country that’s why they have been provoked a brief panic due to sudden assumed earth’s movement. Good thing was no tsunami warning was issued and no injuries or damage have been reported.
Concepcion was badly damaged by Saturday’s magnitude-8.8 quake.
The U.S. Geological Survey issues statement, that Wednesday’s temblor or Earthquake’s aftershock had a preliminary magnitude of 5.9. The agency initially reported two aftershocks occurred, although only one was recognized by most of the Chileans.
Despite of the assumed aftershock, Chile Fire officials horned loudspeakers to assure residents that no tsunami was imminent.
As of the latest report, Chile still suffers major devastation because of the quake. Chilean stocks also fell for a third consecutive session with construction and industrial stocks pulling back from recent gains in the wake of a huge earthquake that will require significant effort to rebuild and repair infrastructure.
