Chile Earthquake and ‘little Tsunami’ in Hawaii last Saturday moves axis of the Earth and may result to peculiar chances of shortened days on the Universe. NASA scientists revealed that shocking  fact just recently.

According to NASA Scientists, moving earth off its axis will result to our  time to be shorted by about 1.26 microseconds.  It’s really  shocking, but it is  true that the 8.8 quake moved the earth off its axis by about 3 inches.

In a statement NASA says,  that 3 inches different is  an incredible length considering the size of our planet.  It’s a bit of scary to think what a series of these types of earthquakes would do to change the landscape of our planet., NASA Scientists added.

NASA geophysicist Richard Gross in a Bloomberg report proves that this is somehow scary bbecause earthquakes involve the movement of hundreds of kilometers of rock and they can actually change the distribution of mass on the planet, affecting the Earth’s rotation. It is still to find out what to happen because of that  unusual occurrence.

One thing is sure according to Gross is that, the length of the day should have gotten shorter by 1.26 microseconds (millionths of a second). The axis about which the Earth’s mass is balanced should have moved by 2.7 milliarcseconds (about 8 centimeters or 3 inches).”
