Dating show fans, who still haven’t had their fill of the new season of Bachelor, were in for a treat as a brand new concept was aired right after. Folks, behold ‘Conveyor Belt of Love’, ABC’s newest romance-themed reality TV show. And yes, it has a literal conveyor belt present.

The rules of the game are relatively simple.

Five lady contestants are given a chance at love through this unique system of speed dating where they call the shots. Every one of the five sexy women are allowed to pick one who they’re going to date, hopefully leading to a romantic connection.

We have thirty eligible bachelors who are given 60 seconds to make a lasting impression on the five single bachelorettes. It is free form in nature as men are allowed to do as they please, as long as it’s not offensive and crude. They can dress up to add spice to their performances which range from poetry reading, famous personality impersonations, display of musical and singing prowess and the time and tested ‘Come hither’ look. They will be presented on the conveyor belt, pretty much akin to picking sushi on modern Japanese restaurants. Each woman is given a sign ‘Interested’ to signify that she has made her choice. Should they feel that the man in the current limelight is better than their previous decision, they are allowed to swap the former for the ‘better’ alternative. If two women should end up picking the same man perchance, the man is given the call to pick which lucky lady he’ll be spending the evening with.

The end of the gameshow special were selected highlights of the resulting five dates.

The masterminds behind this were Tom Shelley and Endemol USA that brought us ‘Chains of Love’ and ‘Dating in the Dark’.
