As early as the 16th century in medieval Scotland, the game of Curling has already been in existence. Mind you, this game has nothing to do with styling the hair, instead it is a team port played on a sheet of cautiously prepared ice that shares some similarities with two other games, lawn bowling and shuffleboard. Two teams of four players each compete against each other in this game.

Each player strives to slide a heavy and polished granite stone on the icy surface to the House, which is the circular target placed also on the icy floor. Each end must be completed, whereby 16 stones must be slid to the target. The winner is the team which has more stones closer to the target than its opposing team.

The Curling Game has been made an official event  in the Winter Olympic Games starting in the year 1998. And in 2006, the International Olympic Committee made a decision that all demonstrative events of Curling game is to be considered Official Olympic events.
