Either the earth’s climate has really gone extremely erratic or Mother Nature is now punishing us for our ruthless deeds. All over the world, reports have been announced of various unheard of experiences in weather changes, among which is the heavy snow storm that continues to spread chaos in the US until now.
In North Texas, the deepest snow that the region has experienced was 7.8 inches during 1964 and 1917. But a new record was set at 11.2 inches last Thursday night at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Because of this natural occurrence numerous flights were delayed and cancelled. Planes set to leave were de-iced, thus lowered traffic. Normally, an approximate 850 planes depart from the DFW airport, but this may not be possible as bad weather continues.
Due also to the bizarre weather, some schools have been closed in the Dallas-Fort Worth area such as the Jesuit College Preparatory and Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving.
Other problems which have resulted from the almost unstoppable snow fall are snapped branches of trees, downed power lines and buckled carports in the region of Metroplex. The Oncor Electric Delivery stated that there were about 70,000 outages in power all over the area of North Texas on the night of Thursday alone.
