Some very new and intriguing things will surely have everyone grasping their seats in anticipation for the 10th season of Dancing with the Stars reality TV show which will premiere this coming March 22, 2010 on ABC.
To start with the first surprise, Samantha Harris who has been co-hosting with Emmy Award-winning game show host Tom Bergeron from season 2 until 9 will no longer be returning since she will now be focusing on her news program The Insider. For the time being, the place will be temporary filled by Melissa Rycroft who has bagged third place in the show’s season 8 finale.
The second bombshell for this season is that there will only be 11 contestants who make it the first season featuring fewer contestants compared to the first 9 seasons and a record breaking fact that there are more female participants than the males.
The 10 casts have also been revealed last March 1 in the finale of The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love with quite a couple of unexpected people aboard. The list includes “World’s Sexiest Woman” Pamela Anderson, “NFL’s Most Outrageous” Chad Ochocinco, “Soap Stud” Aiden Turner, “ESPN’s Broadcasting Beauty” Erin Andrews, “The Beverly Hills Bad Girl” Shannen Doherty, “The Original Moonwalker” Buzz Aldrin, “Reno 911′s funniest” Niecy Nash, “The Pussycat Doll” Nicole Scherzinger, “The Olympic Golden Boy” Evan Lysacek, and “Reality’s Most-Watched Super Mom” Kate Gosselin.
Speculations were buzzing around that maybe “The Bachelor” Jake Pavelka will be the 11 star to complete the circle. It will not be revealed though until after the final rose has been given.
