Ellen Wong stars action comedy movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as Knives Chau, Scott Pilgrim’s girlfriend before he met Ramona Flowers. Knives Chau’s character is a high school girl who fell in love for the 22-year-old Scott Pilgrim and his indie-rock band the Sex Bob-ombs. When Ramona Flowers comes in into the picture, Knives was confused whether to fight for Scott or let him go with Ramona.

The 25-year-old Ellen Wong felt pride and sense of accomplishment as she posed on the red carpet with her beaming parents in her first movie role. Long before the movie and acting, she struggled persuading her family to quit “all her jobs” to become an actress.
“Some people can dream their whole lives and can’t have these opportunities. I knew coming back (from a trip), I needed to jump on it,” Wong said. Her post-grad trip to her parents’ homeland, Cambodia, had herself convinced to pursue on an acting career. It was three years ago that Wong auditioned for Knives and got the job. Her taekwondo training helped her won the role where she will perform kicking fight scenes.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World premiered August 13, 2010 with Michael Cera as Scott. The movie was directed by Edgar Wright.
