Popular TV Icon and The King of the Wild Frontier Fess Parker is gone on earth at 85 years old. Based from reports, the immediate family officially announced that Davy Crockett of the hugely popular Disney television show of the 1950s, died today of natural causes.
Fess Parker, marked the world for his role as Davy Crockett and for making coonskin caps wildly popular with kids of the Baby Boom era in 1950s. He is popularly known also for his classic roles like a son-consoling dad in Old Yeller and another ‘coonskin-cap-favoring frontiersman in NBC’s Daniel Boone had retired from showbiz in the 1970s and founded a hugely successful winery and resort in Santa Barbara.
Parker helped create a lucrative movie, TV and music franchise based on the life of the “king of the wild frontier.” He also starred in “Old Yeller” – owned the DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara and the Wine Country Inn & Spa in Los Olivos, CA.
Parker married Marcella Rinehart in 1960. They had two kids.
Huge fans are now in pain though were not really shock of the news. Sympathy and condolences already expressed by the fans, relatives and friends to the bereaved family.
