Gears of War 3 is now officially on the books. Epic Games – program developer – announced its release date set for next year. The information leak happened when Cliff Bleszinski – GOW lead designer – guest starred at Jimmy Fallon’s talk show. Bleszinski presented the trailer for the new GOW series called “ashes to ashes” because of several characters immediately transforming into ash-figures.
The new GOW sequel will be exclusively released on Microsoft’s Xbox 360. The PC version has yet to be announced – but we’re sure it will soon come. Rumors about the new Gears of War sequel has been proliferating all over internet forums for quite some time now. We’re happy that Epic games made the official announcement for the gamer community’s sake.
Expect new set of characters and enemies in Gears of War 3. The teaser video clip presents a blond-haired female soldier and an enemy named “the Lambent”. One can also see inclusion of double-barreled shotguns and a lot of female soldiers.
Gears of War 3 is set to be released on April 5, 2011 in North America and Asia, April 7 in Japan and April 8 in Europe as well as other countries. We expect a lot from GOW 3 because of the footprint left by its predecessor. GOW 2 garnered several gaming awards on 2008 as Overall Best Shooting Game and Graphics Technology to name a few. GOW 2 also had a blast on its overall sales performance with more than 11 million copies sold worldwide. Will GOW 3 get past its brother? We’ll find out soon.
