The newest Y combinator startup called Hipmunk was created by Adam Goldstein together with Reddit’s co-founder Steve Huffman. Hipmunk aims to reinvent flight search and makes it far easier for users by presenting the information you need through a user-friendly chart of possible flights.

Hipmunk’s main goal is to simplify flight searches, as most popular flight search sites fail to do. Usually, websites of airlines and other flight search sites are almost nonsensical—full of texts that are difficult to understand at first glance, with complicated presentations of connecting flights and even multiple search result pages which make it hard for jetsetters to sort and compare.
Hipmunk offers cool features. It hides flights which you would not like to take, showing only the good flights you would most likely choose. It also shows data in a user interface that shows exactly how much you’ll pay and how long the travel time is.
It also has a tabbed interface that allows multiple searches simultaneously, and links can be shared to single searches or all the tabs. You can also still sort results by price, number of stops, departure/arrival time, and duration of flight.
If you’ve always been dismayed in searching for a flight online because of the difficult analysis of results you should exert, Hipmunk is clearly a clever alternative.
