Posted by Jayson Williams, a former Nets star and one of the best rebounders of the NBA, has been stretched to another year in prison for being appealed guilty for drunk driving that has happened way back January when he crashed into a tree.
Williams has been brought to court to be sentenced for an incident where he was caught driving drunk way back January 5, when his Mercedes-Benz crashed into a tree early in the morning. He is currently serving up to 5 years in prison in a shoot out he’s been involved in that goes back to the year 2002, in which, according to him, he accidentally shot his limousine driver in his home in New Jersey.
When Williams was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.19, which is more than double the allowed limit. Judge Rita Mella deliberated that if Williams is found guilty, she’ll be giving him the maximum sentence for his offense. Williams chose to admit instead having to take it in front of a jury. He apologized to his family and friends and promised that it will never happen again.
