Jimmy Buffett is a singer-songwriter who recently staged his concert at Gulf Shores Alabama last July 11, 2010. This concert is to draw tourists to the coasts while advertising that it is still conducive for tourism despite the BP oil spills.

On that day, the skies were clear and more than thousands of people attended the concert. Buffett sung favorite songs like “Son of a Son of a Sailor,” “Come Monday” and “Margaritaville” while his biggest fans called “Parrotheads” cheered on.
Organizers say they have handed out 35,000 tickets although an official count list of attendees is not available. Alabama Gov. Bob Riley said they have used BP funds to stage more concerts this fall to attract more tourists.
Meanwhile Florida Gov. Charlie Crist came to see Buffett saying the Gulf States will benefit from the said concert.
Buffett grew on the Alabama coast and considered Fairhope, Alabama as his hometown. His sister owns a popular restaurant and marina on the Intracoastal Waterway a few miles of the beach where he threw a June 30 surprise performance party. His concert was supposedly scheduled on July 1, 2010 but was re-scheduled.
Jimmy Buffett is known for his “island escapism” songs which gained him fans worldwide from the 1960’s to the present.
