Posted by Let’s meet one of USA’s pride John Robert Celski a nineteen year old dude who grew up in Federal Way Washington who will be competing at the 2010 Winter Olympics now happening in Vancouver. John Robert more known as JR Celski had a terrible accident that somehow made this boy think it’s the end of his speed skating career.
Five months ago during the US Olympic Trials JR had smacked himself into the padded boards of the skating rink and accidently slit his thigh with the blade of his skates during his fall. The accident left JR’s thigh with a six inch long wound that almost touched his femoral artery. JR Celski first thought when he saw the cut on his thigh was ‘My career is over’ ‘It’s gone within a blink of an eye’.
Though the accident was painful and pretty tragic he still braved himself and continued to represent his country. JR Celski is one of the fastest skaters in the world and we are expecting that we will bring home the bacon said team doctor Eric Heiden. Well Dr. Heiden was right because Celski won the Bronze Medal for the short-track speed skating competition. See related video below to know how dangerous this is.
