Kayleah Wilson is a 12 year old girl who hails from Colorado. On March 28, 2010, she was seen walking towards a friend’s house in order to attend a birthday party. However, she was never seen after that and was announced missing by her parents.
Kayleah, before she went missing, attended the sixth grade at Brentwood Middle School and was described as being about 5′1″ in height and 145 pounds in weight with brown hair and blue eyes. Family, friends and schoolmates continued in searching for her as authorities were alarmed.
Investigators today found a decomposed body of a girl from an irrigation ditch about a half-mile from the home of Kayleah. A worker was checking the ditch because of irrigation problems due to the heavy rains and a day after, found the body in about 3-feet of water. It is suspected that the body found belongs to Kayleah.
But authorities could not confirm if the body really belongs to the missing girl because it was highly decomposed. The body has been in the ditch for how many days as suspected.
Investigators say that they will use dental records as well as DNA and hair fibers to identify the said body. The quickest way would be through dental records for a positive identification. Another option is to use DNA and hair fibers, which could take weeks to make a positive identification.
