The Winter Olympics has finally started and guess who sang at the opening ceremony? None other than the talented Canadian singer KD Lang. For those who haven’t heard of her KD Lang is multi awarded singer winning the Grammy Awards four times and Juno Awards eight times! She sang the song made by Leonard Cohen’s (a renowned poet and songwriter) “Hallelujah”. KD Lang has again captured the audience’s heart and mesmerized about three billion television viewers around the globe with her own rendition of Hallelujah.
KD Lang has first recorded this song way back 2004 for her album called Hymns of the 49th Parallel and performed at the Juno Awards in 2005 singing the same song. She’s been all out with her sexuality and never was ashamed of letting the world know she is indeed a lesbian proving the world that homosexuality is never a hindrance of becoming famous and respected everywhere! More about this woman is that she is an animal rights advocate and vegetarian that was born in Edmonton, Alberta. Her singing career was highly influenced by Patsy Cline which made KD go the extra mile and form a band called The Reclines way back 1983.

Mesmerized??? I don't think so. It was note-perfect, and she has an incredible voice, but the arrangement was seriously self-indulgent and laborious. I hated it.

Ms Lang defies description. She draws you in and won't let go from the first note to the last one and beyond. I am not a Lesbian, but there is something about her that haunts one like a siren's song. In her demeanor, one feels welcome, and invited to just sit awhile to spend a lazy afternnoon with coffee and words. Oh yes, and one must love dogs. In her songs she expresses life in all its colours. No, not just plain colors, but colours beyond rainbow and butterfly. The colours one finds in the depths of dark and bright emotion. She is one of the people in life that one thinks, "I should to like to meet her". Maybe she prefers tea instead…
