Posted by Lindsay Lohan breaks down to tears upon finding out that she is going to jail for repeatedly violating her probation terms. Lohan promised Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Marsha N. Revel that she would do better and explained that the reason for her to failure to attend her weekly alcohol education classes were justified but the court judge ignored her pleas for a lighter sentence.
According to Revel, there were numerous instances in which Lohan lied to the court and to the authorities. The case was as a result of two drunk-driving incidents in the year 2007. The actress repeatedly disobeyed the rules set forth in the probation of the case. The most recent incident was when she did not show up for a mandatory court appearance in Beverly Hills.
Lohan maintained that the reason of her failure to attend said appearance was because she lost her passport. But this excuse proved to be untrue when pictures of her partying at the Cannes International Film Festival the night before it surfaced in the newspapers.
This angered the judge, therefore forcing her to rule on handing down three thirty-day sentences and ordered her to be detained in a locked-down drug rehabilitation facility for ninety days. This is a lighter penalty than Los Angeles prosecutors had prayed for.
