On January 4, 2010, Michael McDonald is performing the National Anthem at the Fiesta Bowl which will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. The Fiesta Bowl has been around since 1998, and it is a part of the Bowl Champion Series. This year, it will put TCU against Boise State, both of whom have never been defeated before and are not running for the national championship. The game will be shown in FOX at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
Michael McDonald, who is 57 years old, is a very popular American Rhythm and Blues singer and songwriter, and has been around since the 1970s with the Steely Dan’s touring band. He was well known for having worked with the Doobie Brothers and Goldstar. His 1980’s hit “What a Food Believes” earned him a Grammy Award for the song of the year.
He also donated his performance to Keep the Beat in December 2009, for the Santa Barbara Education Foundation. He was also on 30 Rock, a popular sitcom, in 2009 on the episode “Kidney Now!” He has been married to Amy Holland for almost 27 years and he has two children with her, Scarlett and Dylan.
