The 22 year old eluded Aruban is a suspect for killing Stephany Flores Ramirez. Ramirez was found dead early Wednesday morning in a hotel room registered under the name of van der Sloot. The woman was brutally stabbed and was found wrapped in a blanket in a poll of blood. Stephany’s father, Ricardo Flores says that van der Sloot appeared along with their daughter in a video taken at a Lima Casino Early Sunday. Surveillance video on Lima’s Atlantic City Casino shows the two together on the night of May 29. And on May 30, van der Sloot crossed the border of Peru to Chile is now being sought by Interpol.
5 years ago, the same man was the suspect for the disappearance of Alabama high school student Natalee Ann Holloway during a senior class trip to Aruba. Holloway was last seen leaving a bar with van der Sloot and 2 other persons. Van der Sloot was then detained several times but was never charged.
Aruban Prosecutor Peter Blanken confirmed that an Interpol international arrest warrant had already been issued for van de Sloot. The Dutch Foreign Affairs Department in the Netherlands had already notified people in Chile about the search for Van der Sloot. According to Blanken, he is already examining details about the case but people should not expect that it will affect the Holloway case or to provide new evidence.
