Posted by All class levels, Elementary-College, in Metro Manila will be suspended on Monday (September 28) according to NDCC. The class suspension announcement was due to severe flooding brought by typhoon Ondoy mostly in Metro Manila areas and some provincial cities. Bagyong Ondoy/ Storm “Ketsana” have brought the worst flooding in the country since 1967.

Rizal area was also included in the class suspension as several of its town particularly in Cainta remain submerged in floodwater. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) also said that all college levels in CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) will be suspended due to the current calamity. Finally after yesterday’s debacle, CHED officials and staff grew some “BALLS”.
CHED Chairman Emmanuel Angeles added that presidents of colleges and universities in other provinces, affected by Ondoy, could also suspend classes if necessary. The devastation brought by Ondoy was massive and mostly affected major cities in Metro Manila and Rizal. Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim said that tomorrow’s class suspension will allow school to clean campuses affected by typhoon Ondoy.

Excuse me, tanong ko lang po kung September 28 LANG ang day of suspension. Kasi po we heard that classes are also suspended on September 29 (Tuesday) via radio. Just to clarify things, I would like to require about this issue. Thank you very much. God Bless!

I guess I backed up my own curiosity.. found the confirmation I've been looking for.. All classes are suspended in all levels in NCR, Rizal, Batangas and Laguna..

How true is it that CHED released a memo declaring suspension of classes until October 2?
Other than that. I've heard, UST suspended their classes until September 30.

haay bakit naman po ganun. . ung school namin hindi nagdedeclared ng walang pasok kahit malakas ng malaks na ung ulan. . . tapos hindi nman kami nasama sa mga binahang lugar d2 sa pampanga peo wala daw kaming semestral break. . tapos ang nakakainis pa wala kaming intrams last year at baka maulit pa ngayon iyon. sabi nila wala daw pondo pero nakapunta sila sa iloilo last year para NASSPHIL. . haay nako umalis kana madam Lina dimonyo este Lina G.
