A 17-year old girl named Norma Lopez was allegedly kidnapped on her way from summer school to her home in Moreno Valley, California. Being a Hispanic, a minority race at that, her case received little media attention compared to the blacks and whites over-rated missing persons’ news.
Surely a beautiful girl and the circumstances of her missing which included finding some of her belongings as well as evidences of her struggle in a field where she usually takes a shortcut deserves apt attention by the federal agents and the media.
But now, the media and the federal agents are giving this case the attention needed. The police continued to search for the body of Norma Lopez. And at 3 p.m. Tuesday a body believed to be hers was spotted in Southern California.
The police took custody of the body and although it is unclear whether it belongs to a male or a female, it is presumed that it was Norma’s decomposing body because it was located two miles away where she would have been kidnapped. The abductor, still unknown to this date, must have thrown the body into thick fields so that no one would have found it.
It was reported by a local resident who was working on the field and smelled something stinking. He thought it was a dead animal but later turned out to be human flesh.
