noynoy thumb Noynoy will run for President Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III finally revealed to the public his official decision of running for President on 2010. It looked like a “movie scene” when he first deferred his decision on running after Sen. Mar Roxas “sacrificially” gave up his bid for Presidency. At that time Noynoy said that he needed “divine” guidance to make a decision.

He kept the public in dramatic “suspense” by going into a Retreat for reflection and to contemplate whether to run or not. I remember Sen. Madrigal also did the same thing, but not too publicized as Sen. Aquino.

Not too obvious?

So now, here is Sen. Aquino finally arrived with his “very obvious” decision of running for President. Yes, we sincerely don’t know he will run, Filipinos really love dramatic teleseryes (T.V. dramas) come into real life.

Today, Noynoy formally proclaimed his candidacy at the historical Club Filipino in San Juan Metro Manila. This is an excerpt from Sen. Aquino’s proclamation

I accept the plea of the people. I accept the advice of my parents. I accept the responsibility to continue the fight for the people. I accept the challenge to lead in this fight. I will run in the coming elections,

Promises?

And just like any would be candidates, of course Sen. Aquino vowed to fight corruption and be the leader who sided all sectors of the society. His first mission? To recover the alleged ill-gotten wealth from the Marcoses. Sen. Aquino estimated that a whopping US$10 billion worth of “goodies” ,squandered during the Marcos Regime, are yet to be recovered. We wish you luck on that.

Comments and Reactions

As the old saying goes, there are 2 sides of the coin. Everyone isn’t happy about Sen. Noynoy’s proclamation. Administration party (Lakas-Kampi-CMD) extended their “congratulations” remark on Noynoy’s bid for President on 2010.

On the other hand, opposition party, Nationalist Peoples Coalition (NPC) believed that Sen. Aquino’s proclamation wasn’t a “threat”. The political party, headed by Danding Conjuangco, strongly believes that their Standard bearer, either Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero or Sen. Loren Legarda will dominate the 2010 elections.

Aquino-Roxas Tandem

Sen. Aquino told reporters that Mr. Palengke has not yet confirmed whether he would run as his running mate on the forthcoming 2010 elections. Noynoy said that he already offered the Vice Presidency to Sen. Roxas but the latter still needs to make up his mind.

Maybe, he also needs a spiritual retreat or perhaps a Mar Roxas for Vice President Signature Campaign before he could decide? That one should wait, as we say in Filipino language “Abangan ang susunod na kabanata” (wait for the next episode).

1 Response for “Noynoy will run for President”

  1. President Noy has done practically nothing yet for this nation. This guy ascended straight into a greater spot primarily because people around him are merely using him for political reasons. Noynoy has not been an economist therefore kindly prevent accusing the previous regime of President Arroyo concerning the economic challenges of the Philippines.
