Posted by The Iraq War drama The Hurt Locker brings home most of the distinct awards during 82nd Oscar Academy Awards that includes Best Picture and historical win for Kathryn Bigelow as Best Director, the very first female director bagging the said award for Oscars in its 82-year history.
Bigelow earns the Hollywood’s top prize for filmmakers defeating her ex-husband James Cameron for his sci-fi spectacle “Avatar.” They were married from 1989-91. Aside from Cameron, Bigelow soared high against rivals Lee Daniels for “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire”, Quentin Tarantino for “Inglourious Basterds” and Jason Reitman for “Up in the Air”

Jeff Bridges bags Best Actor Award for Crazy Heart against George Clooney (Up in the Air) Colin Firth (A Single Man), Morgan Freeman (Invictus

Best Supporting Actress goes for Mo’Nique (Precious) while Best Supporting Actor belongs to Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds).
Other awards for The Hurt Locker are Best Sound Mixing, Film Editing and Best Makeup.
Top Grosser “Avatar” takes home Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography
