Belief of Wireless Industry now getting paranoid triggers the Federal Telecom Regulator look at its hands-off policy of regulating wireless data. This idea has been buying for months already prior to this writing.

It is unfortunate that the wireless industry can’t make out how far it will go, sending conflicting signals? Or the message believed to be clear but the industry can’t read?

The Federal Telecom Regulator set off an explosion in the wireless industry, two months ago that basic services telecommunications carriers need to be reviewed. In particular, the basic services they have to offer to the subscribers. On the other hand, Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) said it will look into its forbearance – of regulating wireless data.

Since the explosion of the idea, the Wireless industry is echoing their protests. They believe that the commission is doing what it’s supposed to do – taking a fresh look at what it’s doing. They question if the commission inadvertently caused confusion in setting out the terms of the hearing? Or is the industry paranoid, as commissioner chair Konrad von Finckenstein told the Press?

The issue is now is really getting hotter. Why? Wireless data revenues are boosting the industry. Regulation is not what it wants.
