The Qwest Field is a stadium located in Seattle, Washington. It is used for both football and soccer, and it serves as the home field for the National Football League team Seattle Seahawks, as well as the Major League Soccer team the Seattle Sounders FC. Originally, it was called the Seahawks Stadium. In 2002 the stadium’s naming rights were bought by Qwest telecommunications center.
Aside from professional sports games, the Qwest Field also hosts college games, concerts, trade shows, golf shows, and consumer shows. It is in a very accessible are, within a mile from Seattle’s business district. Every year, it has over 1.5 million visitors and hosts more than three hundred events.
The stadium was planned back in 1997 when voters decided to fund a new stadium and sports area. There is enough space for around 67,000 people and it is equipped with modern facilities and it is open-air. It was the first stadium to put in an artificial field using FieldTurf.
The Seahawks fans are very loud during the games, and this has added to the Seahawk’s advantage in their home field. This makes other teams start prematurely in the game and gives them penalties. It is one of the best fields available for NFL games.
