Posted by Multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winning country music singer Reba McEntire performed in the A Capitol Fourth, in its 30th anniversary. She was featured with Grammy Award winner Gladys Knight, American Idol finalist David Archuleta, country music sensation Darius Rucker, actor and singer John Schneider and world-renowned classical pianist Lang Lang, live from the West Lawn of the United States Capitol on the 4th of July, 2010. The event was hosted proudly by Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Jimmy Smits.
The annual celebration of America’s National Independence Day showcased live, the most dazzling fireworks display captured by 18 TV cameras surrounding Washington, D.C. Aside from the fireworks that mesmerized America, the start studded concert was offered free to the public and required no tickets. The event created a traffic volume and had closed streets to give way for the event.
Reba McEntire is a renowned music sensation where she started her career via local radio and had many successful hits in various radio shows. That evening in the A Capitol Fourth, the music icon was presented with the National Artistic Achievement Award in recognition of her “dedication to enriching the national legacy of the performing arts as well as her lifetime of musical contributions.”
Among the famous music idols who had received this award were composer John Williams, 2003, music legends Gloria and Emilio Stefan, 2005 and Motown icon Stevie Wonder, 2006.
