Rhythm of the Night is an upbeat song for discos in the 1980’s that was first popularized by the Debarge siblings. Together with its lead singer El Debarge they released their fourth studio album entitled Rhythm of the Night which was released in 1985. The song reached number 1 on the R&B chart and number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 that year.

In 1987, the group was disbanded. So El Debarge sported a solo career and continued to release his solo albums until 1994. In 2008, the Rhythm of the Night song became the theme song of Lowes Motor Speedway during the 2008 NASCAR season.
Now, on a comeback, the Rhythm of the Night song was re-lived during the BET awards spectacular performance by El Debarge himself. The singer now says that he is ready to let the world hear his music again after 16 years of silence. His new album which will be entitled “Second Chance” will hit the markets this fall. Songs featured on the said album were co-written and co-produced by the biggest names in the music industry which included Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Babyface, Mike City, Michael Angelo, Mishka, the Avila Brothers and Ron Fair.
