The United States of America once again celebrated its year of independence and as a part of the traditional festivities, different colors filled up the sky. Among the many cities that had fantastic fireworks, the Seattle fireworks could be considered as one of the most remarkable. The amazing show of fireworks was set up against the natural amphitheatre of Lake Union.

Although there were some speculations that there will be no fireworks to be displayed in the vast skies of Seattle for this year’s Fourth of July celebration because of some cutback on costs, the city government has managed to solicit a total amount of 500,000 US dollars from individuals and local businessmen. For this year’s festivities, the government of Seattle has prepared fireworks that required about three tons of gun powder which was consumed within twenty minutes.
The amount of explosives that were used in the firework display consisted of two thousand firework shells which included a ten-inch diameter that went up to twelve hundred feet and stretched up to one thousand feet in the air. Time Magazine has considered the Seattle Fireworks as one of the Top Five firework displays in the country and something to look forward to for next year’s celebrations.
