Shane Sparks is one of the most well-known figures in choreography with his spot on the judging table of “So You Think You Can Dance” and “America’s Best Dance Crew”. He has been nominated for Emmy awards and started his career choreographing the movie “You Got Served” and was then hired on to “So You Think You Can Dance”.
Sparks, despite being a dancing icon, was arrested on the morning of December 18, 2009 charged with eight counts of child molestation. He was arrested in Los Angeles at his home at around 8 in the morning. He is currently being investigated and being held in “Van Nuys” jail with a bail of $590,000. The acts in question happened over ten years ago, in 1994. Where the “victim” says she had been abused sexually for several years, starting before she was even 14 years old.
Other lies told by Sparks have been exposed, such as his age. His personal website states that he is 35 years old, but police reports show that he is actually 40. Whether or not he could have committed these heinous crimes is now under question, as the investigation continues. Sparks’ talent as a dancer and a choreographer are clear, but that does not exclude him from the law, as this case shows. The truth will soon be revealed, so stay tuned.
