Shawn Johnson, an American artistic gymnast, had announced last Tuesday at Des Moines at the Iowa Events Center her plan on competing in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. It was a good news for all her fans out there who are all excited to see her in her graceful and powerful moves in the balance beam.
The 18 year old gymnast is the Gold medal winner in the 2008 Beijing Summer games for her amazing moves in the balance beam. She also had 3 silver medals for the floor exercise, team competition, and All-Around title. She even joined another gold medal-winner and teammate Nastia Liukin at the podium.
Johnson has just recently been issued for what was said to be an embarrassing and humiliating throw at a recent Iowa Cubs baseball game. But who cares, she is a gymnast not a baseball player. She has competed in the Season 8 of Dancing with the stars and was declared the new champion and was awarded the Mirror Ball Trophy with her dancing partner Mark Ballas
On KCCI last Tuesday, her mother had confirmed Shawn plans to continue her training and to compete ion the 2012 games. However Shawn had just undergone a surgery for a torn ACL in February and had been in crutches for weeks and that her gymnastic training would have to wait at least 6 months.
