If your daughter dreams of becoming a real life princess very similar to Sleeping Beauty you may want to stop her from even imagining herself in that state because the likeable fairy tale of this princess may turn a nightmare for someone who has the Sleeping Beauty syndrome. Also called Klein-Levin syndrome in medical terms this illness may turn your life and your family’s life upside down that would make you have a different point of view when it comes to sleeping.
This is exactly what is happening to the Ball family from London. Louisa a fifteen year old girl who was recently diagnosed to have the illness usually falls asleep for 2 weeks without eating or drinking which made her parents force feed her and watch over her when she doesn’t wake up. The illness doesn’t have any cure as of the moment but Dr. Emmanuel Mignot claims that though there is no cure it can go away after eight to twelve years. Mignot thinks that a virus in the girls system is the one held responsible for Louisa’s illness but nothing is still official for they are still studying the girl’s case.
Lottie (Louisa’s mom) said that her daughter has been missing a lot in school due to this sickness, Lottie also said that there has been a great behavior change that happened to Louisa. ‘When she get’s irritable and doesn’t want to talk that’s the time it will trigger’ according to Louisa’s friends.
