The shows’ creator Eric Kripke had initially planned to make the show last for only 5 seasons but because of the gradual increase in their ratings from the 4th and 5th season, they have decided to continue the show. However, he had confirmed that he will not anymore be the show runner for the next season instead it will be their Executive Producer Sera Gamble who will take the lead. He will still remain as the hands-on executive producer.
