It’s American Idol once again (which officially started January 7 2010) and now they are on for the Round two ‘group day’ in Hollywood. As we all know groups are given a list of songs they can choose from to sing or make their own rendition and one of the songs on the list is Sweet Escape which was chosen by most of the groups. The thing there is only Gwen Stefani can rap away with the lyrics. Obviously all those who attempted to sing their way to the American Idol finals by choosing ‘Sweet Escape’ did not do so well which permanently made them escape the limelight not sweet but bitter.

So what can we learn from this other than ‘Sweet Escape’ is one hell of a song that is hard to sing? Never ever sing this as your audition piece unless you want to go back home and say goodbye to fame. Ellen even gave her sugar coated comment that she can relate if the contestants forgot the lyrics because she only knows the part where it says “I get to the refrigerator” and the rest is history but of course that is not an excuse if you want to be the next American Idol!
