After several months of hiatus, pro golfer and World Number 1 Tiger Woods has released a new Nike commercial just days before the Masters.
In the commercial, Tiger looks serious and contrite while in the background one can hear his deceased father, Earl Woods speaking. Tiger didn’t say anything in the commercial video other than the sad look on his face while his father is speaking. Well, probably he won’t be wearing the same face when he receive his paycheck from Nike sponsorship and after the Masters 2010 tournament.
Nike probably thought of making this commercial in order to regain the public’s trust on the pro golfer who had just undergone a rehab. The video looks interesting and could bring more dough both for Tiger and Nike. However, the public seem not to agree with what Tiger Woods is trying to convey. The majority of the comments on this video are negative and a little cruel. I remember similar gesture from American hip hop singer Kanye West when he guest starred at Jay Leno’s show.
The public nowadays seems to have more intelligence and knows if something is just a “show” or not. On the other hand, we can give Tiger the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he did change. We will see the result of his rehab on the coming months and check if it somehow affected his golf skills. For now, check out the comments below and give your opinion on this.
