Nine (9) planes flew over the top of the shoreline; siren resounded all around Hawaii to warn people of tsunami hitting the islands after the Chile’s earthquake on early Saturday morning February 27, 2010.
Based on the reports from Cable News Network and other reliable media sources, 40 meters tsunami tidal waves are believed hit the islands of Juan Fernandez some 600 km away from Chile. The first wave is about to hit, 4:00pm EST
Hawaii Gov, Linda Lynch immediately issued a declaration of state of emergency in preparation to possible tsunami damage. The authorities are in the process of deciding whether to close wastewater pumping stations on Oahu and Mau to prevent damages due to the tsunami.
Because of massive warnings, people were already urged to move to a higher level places to avoid possible high level tsunami waves. As of this writing, the islands of Robinson Crusoe already experienced tsunami waves and some assumed that the same have already reached the Hawaii region as well.
Both Japan and Chile were hit by 7.3 and 8.8 magnitudes earthquake on Saturday morning in a span of few hours thus prompting severe threats to Hawaii and other countries near Pacific Ocean.
