On this section we recognize outstanding local Filipinos and abroad who did tremendous contribution on their field of work and business. These Filipino hall of famers are worthy and deserving to be recognized. Because of them, Filipino image is up-lifted and being renowned worldwide.
First on our list is Ms. Cristeta Pasia Comerford, a Filipino US-based chef. Ms. Comerford holds the position as the Executive Chef for the White House when she was personally picked by First lady Laura Bush on 2005. She holds the record as the First woman and First Asian executive chef on the White house.
On August 24, 2009, Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) recognized Ms. Comerford – mother of one child– as one of the world-class Filipino overseas awardee for her outstanding achievements in the culinary arts.
Ms. Comerford currently lives in Maryland, USA with husband John and daughter, Danielle. According to Chef Cristeta, cooking is not just a profession nor a career, instead it should be treated as a vocation.
abc NEWS even featured the US-based Filipino Chef on one of its segments. Check-out the food she prepares for President Obama and his family.
