Posted by One of the oldies but goodies, this movie is still one of the favourites to watch this season. After 10 years in the box office, When Harry met Sally remains to be a well loved classic. To add up to that, as the New Year’s Day is coming close for many of us, the movie is set against the backdrop of contemporary relationship dynamics of friendship and intimacy which happily concludes on—yes, you got that right, right one of those big New Year’s Day parties that are being held in gleeful anticipation of the strike of midnight.
Considered to be one of those effective feel good movies from way back and even up to now, the movie is laid down with the question of ‘Can men and women remain to be ‘just’ friends?’. The exploration of the possible answers for this question is lived through the onscreen characters of Harry and Sally played by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan respectively. It follows the trials and tribulations of the two over more than a decade of almost fateful meetings as they go in and out of their intimate relationships, with each meeting always being a sequel to the never ending question and premise of the film.
