We have seen several versions of the Acer Aspire One netbooks introduced in the market sporting different software or hardware specs. The Aspire One AOD250 is particularly interesting because of its rock-bottom price and some interesting features to show off. Now, Acer officials have confirmed that a NEW Acer Aspire One – AOD260 is on its way to the market.
Several Acer fans liked the overall performance of the AOD250 netbook. There are cons along the way particularly on the touchpad performance, somewhat bulky design because of its battery size and the small keyboard size which can be a hassle to guys with big fingers.
Acer’s main man Martino Mombrini has spilled the beans that the upcoming Acer Aspire AOD260 will still have the dual booth Android and Windows OS function similar with the D250. Extra juicy details on its specification upgrades were not revealed by Mr. Mombrini but gave a hint that the new Aspire One will have a redesign on its casing. That’s indeed a good news since it will provide a fresh new look on the boring and bulky lines of the old Aspire netbook. The ASUS , HP and Dell netbook counterparts have rather more attractive casing compared with the Aspire One thus it’s good Acer has put into consideration on revamping their new Android netbook. However, we hope that the new AOD260 will retain the slim and compact features of AOD250.
We are speculating on what would the D260 will have under its hood knowing Acer as a company which likes competition. The first versions of the Acer Aspire One D250 has a starting price hovering around 300-350 USD thus we think the new Aspire AOD260 will still uphold the budget friendly price of D250, maybe it will add a little dough for the case upgrade but not too much to hurt its sales. The new Aspire netbook will probably have the new Intel Atom processors, RAM and latest Intel mobile graphics (good if dedicated ones will be installed).
We are anticipating a great new look (inside and out) on the upcoming AOD250. Stay tune for more updates on this Acer mobile gadget.
