Acer’s much delayed Iconia Smart is finally hitting the shores in September without much funfare and surprises. Previews and the waiting haven’t taken the toll yet as would-be buyers are still adamant about its features and functionalities.

The Android 2.3 Gingerbread device contains a Snapdragon processor and two cameras. The 4.8-inch phone and tablet shows off a 1024 x 480-resolution display in a widescreen panel perfect for both movies and pictures. Encased in plastic with semi-metal borders, the Iconia transcends the boundaries of combined phone and tablet gadgets with such unique aesthetics. The delay is justified considering that mobile entertainment needs a lot of changes for a near perfection to satisfy customers’ changing desires.
The Iconia Smart has four physical buttons and two good widgets – one for webpage and one for media carousel. It will cost Europeans $710 to get hold of the Iconia while the America’s would have to wait until April next year.
Although it’s a long phone which fits big pockets only, it would probably feature the specs of Acer’s Iconia unveiled on November 23, 2010 with minimal differences pertaining to the phone – 4Gb of RAM, 16Gb hard drive and a number of ports such as USB and HDMI-out. It’s already a perfect device with multi-touch features.
